Even today, the magnitude of the disaster is visible in some places and is also evidenced by the ongoing reconstruction efforts, as well as by the data elaborated and analysed by Lombardy Region. Yet this earthquake seems to be forgotten or, worse, as if it never happened.
In national media, the 2012 earthquake is associated with Emilia, a region certainly as affected as, or more than, our areas. However, Mantua also faced an almost unimaginable event, sometimes suffering from this “forgetfulness.”
For this reason, Anci Lombardia has often intervened to ensure the Mantuan territory receives the appropriate recognition in legislative measures.
