From NEET to Protagonists: Culture as Activation” (CUP: E81D26000110004), under the call “ZeroNeet. Networks of Opportunities for Employment Integration and Skills”, included in the Lombardy Regional Programme — European Social Fund Plus 2021–2027 (Priority 4 — Specific Objective ESO 4.1 — Action a.4.).
CultAction. From NEET to Protagonists: Culture as Activation
The project is developed within the cultural sector, understood here as encompassing all those professions — in continuous evolution — involved in the management of cultural activities, spaces, events, and institutions open to the public. This is a broad and diverse category of professionals, including both highly qualified figures (such as production directors, curators, and artistic directors) and technical and operational profiles with specific and essential competencies for the management of events or cultural heritage (audio-visual technicians, production assistants, heritage conservation officers, visitor services and information staff, etc.).
The decision to focus on this sector also stems from a cultural and social wager: the world of culture, thanks to the breadth of both technical and transversal competencies it offers and demands, can engage personal dimensions that differ from the purely competitive or performative dynamics of other professional fields. It can therefore represent a positive experiential platform, capable of offering young people a context in which to rediscover confidence, self-esteem, and motivation in their engagement with the world of work.
The variety of experiences offered by cultural settings such as libraries, theatres, museums, and historic villas — so often characterised by the beauty of their surroundings, the richness of their stimuli, and the quality of human relations — can help young people to surface competencies they did not know they possessed and would not know how to name. It is for this reason that CultAction. From NEET to Protagonists: Culture as Activation was conceived.
